My grandma died about 3 years ago and my dad inherrited the house and some other stuff. in her will she left $1000 to each grand child to do what they want with it. Today my sisters received their $1000 from my dad and he said he spent mine on a transmission without telling me thats what it was for. o’m 17 years old. Would this be a good case? could i take it to a small claims?

For sure you have a case, provided you can get your hands on your grandmother’s will. Not to mention, winning the case is one thing, collecting on the judgment is the important thing.

Go to the probate court in your county and for a small fee obtain a certified and true copy of the will. If there is one. Also you can receive a copy of the probate file.
If things are as you say then take the file to your father and tell him point blank that you expect the money within 24 hours or he can answer to the probate court and your attorney.

From what I know, since you are still underage, he technically can do what he wants with it until you turn 18. But I could be wrong.
