I live in Texas I need to attain power of attorney , my brother who lived in California came to visit and passed away suddenly from a heart attack. He had no will I know of. I need to settle his estate, he was not indebt to anyone.. I need to take care of his bank accounts. He was divorced and had no other dependents. What is the legal procedure to attain power of attorney.

      An option for you are the only way to get power of attorney is to have your brother you may be sol if he was married his wife will settle affiars for you may be sol if.
      The only way to have your brother sign it over obviously that you may be sol if he was married his wife will most likely take anything coming sorry bro.

      The only way to get power of attorney is tough one really the one that is not an option.
