What are the first steps to take if my attorney’s assistant forged my signature on a document I refused to sig?

I am in the middle of a legal malpractice complaint and have found that documents were forged. I have already hired a Forensic Document Examiner. What should I do next, go to the police? Hire another attorney? I am disabled and need some advise. I hope you can help. Thanks for reading my question!

Hiring a good Forensic Document Examiner was a good first step. You just have to be sure that the two practitioner’s are in no way in business together.
I advise hiring another attorney immediately, and one that will be understanding of your situation. My advice is to find message boards with people in similar conditions - they may know lawyers from personal experience, and those lawyers will be the trustworthy, tried-and-true ones.
Good luck.

Report him to the Bar Association. They may not do anything about him but it will appear as a complaint. Also, you could try reporting him to the Better Business Bureau. He is running a business so a complaint there could make a difference in his future business opportunities.
It would probably be a good idea to hire another attorney too.

good you hired that examiner. did you talk to your attorney about this? i would assume he/ she should fire the assistant. if so, your attorney would support you in your claim and you can even sue the assistant. but what does the assistand have? plus yes, you would beed a police report. you should get another attorney, and see what you could do. you might even have a claim against that other attorney of yours….

If your lawyers assistant has forged doc’t then first thing you do is no longer become his/her client. Write a letter stating why and find another attorney.
Second thing you do is call the State Supreme Court and report him. It is a violation of their ethics and law for someone to forge your signature, he will probably be disbarred even though his assistant did it he is responsible for everything that they do.
Third, is hire another lawyer to both sue for the malpractice and also sue the lawyer that forged the signatures. You will get your money back and also will also probably get a penal award because judges/juries do not look kindly on this.
This is so illegal and should not be tolorated.
