I live in Florida and I was wondering what the actual procedure is to collecting attorney fee’s. I have looked at case law, the Florida Rules of Court, Statutes, etc. and I can’t find anything on how to go about collecting the fees. Do any of you know where I could find the law that deals with this? Thanks for all your help.

If you mean an attorney collecting off you its no problem since he can sue you without cost to him since he is an attorney and most likely sue you for court cost too.

It is no different than any other debt. There aren’t any specific laws for lawyers and debt collection. The only difference is they don’t have to hire an lawyer.

Are you trying to collect fees for legal service rendered?

Before he takes the case the attorney demands a certain amount of money up front. Then as the case proceeds he milks you for more money.

If attorney’s fees are not paid then they will garnish your wages if there is a signed contract. They do this by petitioning the court, then they will contact your employer.
